These provisions require retailers to inform consumers about correct disposal, return options and the meaning of labelling symbols.

5. Advance recycling fee (ARF)
For certain batteries and accumulators, an advance recycling fee (ARF) is charged in Switzerland. This is already included in the displayed selling price — no separate fee is invoiced.
The ARF is used by INOBAT or SENS eRecycling to finance the environmentally sound disposal and recycling of batteries and accumulators.

6. Safety instructions for lithium-ion batteries
Lithium-ion accumulators, as used in particular in Milwaukee power tools (M18™, M12™), require special care:
- Only charge batteries with the original charger provided for this purpose.
- Do not short-circuit, open, deform, heat or throw batteries into fire.
- Immediately take damaged or swollen batteries out of service and dispose of them properly — not in household waste.
- Do not store batteries at temperatures below 0 °C or above 40 °C.
- Do not store deeply discharged batteries uncharged for extended periods.
- In the event of damage, unusual heat development or odour, immediately secure the battery and consult a specialist.
